Sync photos between iPhone / iPad / Mac

By | May 31, 2012

To sync all your photos, all you need to do is sign up for a free iCloud account here, or if you haven’t done so already then make sure you upgrade your MobileMe account to iCloud here

Once you have signed up to iCloud then all you need to do is find the iCloud menu in ‘Settings’ on your iPhone / iPad and add your new iCloud account. You don’t need to turn ‘Mail’ on if you don’t want to (it’s handy but not essential).

To sync your iPhone / iPad photos to your Mac you need to make sure you have Lion (or anything newer*) and the latest version of iPhoto or Aperture downloaded and installed. Once you have them all you need to do is enable ‘Photo Stream’ or ‘iCloud Library’.

‘Photo Stream’ is very handy when it comes to syncing your photos, because now you don’t need to connect your iPhone or iPad to your Mac anymore. ‘iCloud Library’ allows you upload all of your photos to your iCloud account so you can view them on any device logged into your iCloud.
